Marching Band News: The Tiger Band will travel to Indianapolis, IN to compete in the Bands of America Grand Nationals Championships for the first time in program history! This contest is held at Lucas Oil Stadium, the only major NFL stadium designed and constructed with the marching arts activity in mind. The contest dates are Nov. 8-11, 2023, and features over 80 bands from across the country in a 2-day Prelims, with 32 bands advancing to Semi-finals, and the top 12 moving on to Finals. Trip details and cost will be shared as they are developed. All students will need to attend, so anyone willing to help sponsor any students in need of financial assistance please see Timmie Smith. The Band Boosters will be sponsoring some additional fundraisers aimed specifically at helping to cover equipment transportation costs and reducing the overall fee for each student. This trip will serve as our "small" trip, in between the longer, more extensive trip taken every 4 years.
Winterguard News: the JV (10:39am) and Varsity (4:53pm) Winterguards will be competing at the TCGC contest held at Hays HS this Saturday, Feb. 18.
UIL Solo and Ensemble: Feb. 25th at Hays HS. All WE/SB/CB students are required to perform a solo in order to be eligible to sign up for band for next year. Any students that are ineligible must perform at the Recital Series on Monday, Feb. 27th at 5:00pm in the Orchestra Hall or at a concert. Entry Fee for Solo is $12, Ensemble Fee is $12 for each performer. Payment is through RevTrack Webstore at this link. This fee is now overdue.

Accompanist Fee for UIL Solos: The accompanist fee for a Class 2 or 3 solo is $50. The fee for a Class 1 solo is $65. This fee includes two 15-minute rehearsals at the Band Hall plus the performance on Feb. 25. Unfortunately, due to gas prices, the fees had to be raised. Payment of this fee will be made directly to the Accompanist, due at the first scheduled rehearsal. Cash or check made out to the Accompanist will be accepted. Accompanists may have Venmo or another way to pay the fee online. Rehearsals will begin this week, FEE IS DUE TOMORROW. Check the Accompanist Information Sheet emailed today to your student's school email account to see who to make the payment to. There is very little wiggle room in the schedule to make up any missed sessions, so please make every effort to attend as assigned.
Sectional and Rehearsal Schedules: Please check the Announcement Sheet for the Rehearsal and Sectional schedule for this week.

Howdy Tiger Band Families!
The Evening of Jazz Fundraiser is just under three weeks away! Students should have brought ticket packets home that have event tickets and raffle tickets they're encouraged to sell. The money for any tickets sold, the stubs of sold raffle tickets, and the unsold event tickets must all be returned to directors by Thursday, March 23 thanks to an extension from our caterer. If your student didn't receive a packet please ask them to check with their director. If you're interested in reserving a table for the event or prefer to buy event tickets online you may visit https://dsbandboosters.membershiptoolkit.com/store/5020 to purchase tickets.
Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. The raffle prize is a YETI HAUL wheeled cooler!
Finally, there is a dessert auction at Evening of Jazz where you can satisfy your sweet tooth by bidding on treats made by Tiger Band students and families. Students that donate a tray of 2 dozen baked goods will receive credit for two service hours.

HEB Gift Cards Fundraiser Info
Towards the end of 2022, we generated one of our largest monthly orders post-COVID with a $17,000 card order. If more of you place orders, we will easily be able to reach $25,000 in card orders. HEB will give a higher percentage back to our band IF we reach this goal.
Let’s do this!! Just use the link above to place your order or send us an email with any questions. Better yet, mark your order as a recurring monthly order and help out the band all year long.
We promise to make the process as seamless as possible, and you can always email if you have any questions at hebcards@gmail.com.
