Tiger Band Volunteers - SignUp.com
From Mr. Woods:
Hello Tiger Band Family,
Thank you to Mary Fernandez and crew and everyone who helped to plan, organize and volunteer for the Pageantry in the Springs TCGC contest. Tiger Band Boosters put on another great event! Congratulations to the JV and Varsity Winterguards and Mr. Vereen on a really strong start to the season!
HS Band Orientation for the 2024-25 school year will be on Thursday, Feb. 1 in the DSHS Auditorium starting at 7:00pm. All 8th grade students and at least one parent are expected to attend, regardless of plans for participation in HS Band. This meeting is a great opportunity to get an overview of the DSHS Tiger Band Program expectations and benefits for students and parents. Please let Mr. Woods or Mr. Cuevas know if you are not able to attend.

Percussion Update
Percussion:
Another week of rehearsals in the morning and afternoon – please review the schedule. We are looking forward to next Saturday, February 3rd for the Percussion solo contest. All students will check-in at the band hall based on their scheduled time slots and practice activities for the day. I will be there during the day to visit with parents and support the event. Let me know if you would like to assist – it only takes about 2 adults for this event – primarily to support set-up and provide hospitality for the Percussion judges.
TCGC / Pageantry in the Spring:
If your child completed volunteer hours and did not receive a certificate, please inform your student to send me an email directly at percussion@dsbandboosters.org. I will provide certificates to Mr. Woods before the end of the week.
Thanks!
PitS Update
Woohoo…we did it! It’s Sunday, January 28th and another Pageantry in the Springs is in the books!! We hosted exactly 80 Percussion and Color Guard units from across Central Texas, and it was a long, exciting, busy, and successful day. Congratulations to Mr. Vereen and the JV & Varsity Winterguard teams for getting their first competition of the season under their belts, and for their 5th (JV) and 1st (Varsity) place finishes!! Thank you, thank you to all the adult and student volunteers who gave their time and energy into making this event a success! I can’t say, “THANK YOU” enough!
Your phenomenal Tiger Band Students were helpful and enthusiastic as always. I’m so thankful for all 118 student volunteers that covered 165 volunteer spots. We had 38 incredible Adult volunteers covering 88 shifts (and other jobs), with a handful of outstanding people doing multiple shifts. Plus my awesome Volunteer Leads who were there from the early morning to late at night! All that to say, it cannot and does not happen without your help! If you couldn’t make it this year, we missed you (because we did have fun while we worked hard) and we NEED YOU next year.
Thanks for all the support in time, energy, and donations to make Pageantry in the Springs 2024 a successful fundraiser for DSHS Tiger Band!
Concessions - Thank You!
Thank you to all the amazing parent and student volunteers that helped out in Concessions yesterday for Pageantry in the Springs. Because of your support, we were able to provide food, snacks, and drinks from 7am till after 10pm. Everyone came with a great attitude and showed why Dripping Springs High School Band has the best parents and students around.
Special thanks to the parent volunteers who stayed beyond their scheduled shift time to help out when we were short-handed, and to the volunteers who took an additional shift to ensure we provided support to the color guard members and spectators.
Go Tiger Band!
Senior Photos Needed
Attention senior parents! I have started working on the senior books and we need your photos! Please send in pictures of your kiddos from freshman to senior year to nicolermoore@yahoo.com.
The photos must be high resolution, no screenshots or texted images please- they will turn out fuzzy. If you can tell me your students name and what year for each picture so we will know how to group them we’d appreciate it. Some have sent separate emails for each year for their child and I have gotten a Google doc with them organized and that works great too.
Thanks so much! I’m excited to get started on this!
