Uniform Update
Another Congratulations to our football team on winning their playoff game on Saturday!
But we are not done yet...
Reminder for the parents that took students home from Saturday's game. If they brought their uniforms home with them: wash the pieces in cold water and tumble dry low. It works better if you turn the jacket inside out to avoid damaging the buttons and hearing the loud clanking noises they make (you can also throw in the gauntlets and garment bags in the wash together). Your student knows how they must be folded on the hangers and placed in the garment bag. Please have them return their uniform by Monday morning.
4th Playoff Game at the Alamodome on Saturday, December 2nd: Students will be wearing their Football Uniform. They will need their grey lycra bike shorts, grey dri-fit, black and white gloves*, long black socks, and black shoes. Hair at the discretion of the directors. Make sure to have flip folders and lyres.
* Mr. Woods has requested that gloves will be required for the remainder of the season for instruments requiring them on the field (white on the right hand and black on the left hand).
Winter Concert on Monday, December 11th: Students will be wearing their Concert Uniform. They will need their grey lycra bike shorts, grey dri-fit,long blacksocks, and black shoes.
Thank you,
Su Gibbs and Suzanne Gusella

March-a-thon Event at Epic Fun
Remember when our kids marched around Belterra when Texas was hotter than the surface of the sun, and I promised them that anyone who met their fundraising goal of $300 would get to go back to Epic Fun? They do!! Originally, we had planned that event for early December but because of ongoing playoff games and general teenager exhaustion, we’re pushing the event back to January. Stay tuned for a specific date and more details!
If you’d like your student to be able to attend but they haven’t yet met their goal, they have until December 1st: https://givebutter.com/
Kendra Scott Gives Back - Fundraising Event
Kendra Scott is hosting a fundraising event benefitting the Tiger Band in December! You can shop in the South Congress Store on Sunday, December 17th from 2:00-4:00 and mention the DSHS Band OR you can shop online on December 17th and 18th with the promo code GIVEBACK-FODSX. Kendra Scott will donate 20% of your total sale back to the band. Let your friends and family know, especially the one who are last minute Christmas shoppers.
As always, you know where to find me if you’ve got questions, suggestions, or creative ideas!
Thanks, guys!!!

Concessions Clean-up - Help Needed
Another successful fall band season is wrapping up which means it’s time to clean-up and move our equipment and supplies out of the concessions stand. We are planning a two step process.
Sat 12/2 morning - Drain fryers, clean equipment, and power wash cooking areas.
Sat 12/9 morning - Move-out and cleanup the concessions stand to turn over to Soccer for their winter season.
We don’t anticipate hosting any additional games and want to schedule the cleanup as soon as possible to avoid holiday festivities and the school break.
Please sign-up so that we know that we have the help needed to knock the job out >> Volunteer Sign-up
**On 12/2 a second power washer would be very helpful, and on 12/9 we’ll need a vehicle that can move one of the trailers.
TCGC Contest Pageantry in the Springs - January 27, 2024
The DSHS Tiger Band hosts one of the biggest, best, and earliest Texas Color Guard Circuit (TCGC) competitions in the state with over 75 Percussion and Color Guard performing ensembles. Thanks to all who have stepped up to help lead the way to Pageantry in the Springs on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024! Don’t you want to work with these awesome people?! Check the list below to see what’s still needed in terms of lead people. A volunteer sign-up for adults and students will go out in January.
Judges Hospitality is the area most in need of leadership right now. This is a great job for someone (or two) who enjoys practicing hospitality: coordinating meal menus (for judges & staff) with local restaurants, making the lounge look nice and inviting, and being a general “host/hostess with the mostess.” The judges and staff really look forward to and appreciate our efforts in this area so let’s keep it up!

HEB Gift Cards Fundraiser Info
As we are getting close to wrapping up this year, we are grateful for all of our participants in the DSBB HEB card fundraiser. In 2023, you’ve helped the band raise over $3,700 just by shopping at HEB. It’s so exciting that each month we consistently hover around 30 band families participating, but we know we can do more!
If you haven't already, please add joining this fundraiser to your 2024 to-do list! Just use the link above to place your order or send us an email with any questions. Better yet, mark your order as a recurring monthly order and help out the band all year long. Nothing will make us happier than to mail out your cards each month. We promise to make the process as seamless as possible, and you can always email if you have any questions at hebcards@gmail.com.
Happy Holidays! Laurie Darilek and Jennifer LaRochelle
