From Mr. Woods:

Hello Tiger Band Family,

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful holiday break, and are ready to dive right into 2024. I know that the band staff is happy and ready to work with all our Tiger Band students to provide the best opportunities for us all to grow as musicians, performers, and most importantly, as people.

A big thank you for representing the Tiger Band goes to the small ensembles that performed at the Dripping Springs Western Wonderland at Ranch Park prior to the holiday break.

Congratulations to all of our TMEA AREA E auditionees.  These students kept their building over the break to participate on Saturday at Westlake HS in the Area auditions. We are sooo proud of all the students that chose to engage themselves in the TMEA All-State process, starting with at the Region level, and these 21 Area students went the extra mile to represent themselves, the Tiger Band and Dripping Springs HS at a very high level.

The next big event will be the Pageantry in the Springs Colorguard/Percussion contest we are hosting on January 27th.  This will be an all day contest, very similar to the Thunder in the Hills event in September.  All students are expected to sign up for at least one volunteer shift, and we will need lots of parent volunteers, too.  This event is indoors, and will feature performances from almost 80 HS and Independent winterguards, indoor percussion and winds groups from all over the Central Texas area. Check below for more information on how to sign up.

Senior Photos Needed

Attention senior parents! I have started working on the senior books and we need your photos! Please send in pictures of your kiddos from freshman to senior year to nicolermoore@yahoo.com.

The photos must be high resolution, no screenshots or texted images please- they will turn out fuzzy. If you can tell me your students name and what year for each picture so we will know how to group them we’d appreciate it.  Some have sent separate emails for each year for their child and I have gotten a Google doc with them organized and that works great too.

Thanks so much! I’m excited to get started on this!

March-a-thon Event Qualifiers

Marchathon Epic Fun Event

Thank you to all of our students and families who participated in our fall Marchathon fundraiser. The band could not have travelled to Grand Nationals without the help of every single one of you!

The Band Boosters will be sponsoring an evening at Epic Fun for the students who met their $300 fundraising goal.  If your student qualified for this prize, you should have received an email from me last week.

If you didn’t get the email but believe your student should have qualified, please double check the list of qualifiers and let me know if there’s an error (or if you need the email resent)!

Thanks again for your continued fundraising support!  Stay tuned for more opportunities in the coming weeks.

HEB Gift Cards Fundraiser Info - PLEASE READ!

As we begin a new year, please join the HEB Fundraiser. It's simple...

1. You purchase HEB gift cards (just like all of those holiday cards you buy for your family at Christmas).

2. You receive the full amount of your purchase to be used at HEB or Central Market for groceries, gas, prescriptions, etc. You do not have to pay the band a penny for this.

3. HEB donates a portion of the purchase back to the band. The larger the amount of gift cards that we sell, the larger the percentage HEB gives back.

If everyone participates, the band can raise as much money as some of our fundraisers without a cost to anyone.

If you aren’t in the mix already, please consider adding this to your 2024 To-Do list. It really is so easy to purchase gift cards that can be used for groceries, gas, and prescriptions, and our band will benefit. If you are already participating, perhaps it’s time to consider increasing your monthly amount. I know my cards get used quickly with our busy household!

Here is the link to get you started! Email with any questions to hebcards@gmail.com
